Located in an idyllic spot on the southeast coast of Zanzibar, the Baraza Resort & Spa is the ultimate luxury retreat. It is an all-inclusive resort set in beautiful gardens along a long stretch of white-sand beach on the Michamvi Peninsula. Owned by the same company that runs the adjacent Breezes Beach Club and The Palms, Baraza has a luxurious tropical feel.
Baraza Resort & Spa offers ultimate luxury on one of the world’s best beaches. With miles and miles of empty white-sand beach fringed with palm trees, guests can enjoy the perfect place to really unwind and relax. With a fusion of Arabic, Swahili and Indian design, with Swahili arches, intricate hand-carved cement décor, beautiful antiques, handmade furniture and intricate brass lanterns, Baraza offers unparalleled standards of luxury on the island of Zanzibar.
Zanzibar is a semi-autonomous archipelago off the coast of Tanzania consisting of Zanzibar Island, Pemba Island and many smaller islands. From the village of Bwejuu a broad white-sand beach runs continuously north for approximately 10km, fronted by a broad coral lagoon backed by groves of coconut palms.
Amongst the palms lie simple thatched villages, whose inhabitants rely on fishing and seaweed farming to earn a modest living. The prestigious Conde Nast Traveller Magazine recently named Bwejuu Beach one of the top 30 beach destinations in the world.
While based at the resort you can dive the local coral reefs or explore other must-see parts of Zanzibar such as Stone Town, a 50-minute drive away, and Jozani Forest. Baraza supports the local hotel school from which 90% of Baraza’s staff have graduated. The charity Baraza for Bwejuu has been responsible for a huge improvement in the quality of life of the village, building a mosque, annually repainting the Bwejuu clinic and supplying them with fresh water and medicines, and donating beds, mattresses, clothes, school supplies, and books to the village.
Baraza Resort & Spa offers a variety of en-suite accommodation options in the form of 14 one-bedroom villas, 15 two-bedroom villas and a two-bedroom presidential villa.
